Eliminations in Factview
In Factview, elimination entries can be created at the General Ledger Account level. These entries are processed automatically when the Import Sets in the Consolidation Dossier are updated.
-
Elimination entries are applied to all Datasets, such as Actuals and Forecasts.
-
A separate Import Set is automatically created for eliminations.
-
Elimination entries are included in reports.
How Elimination Entries Work
-
Elimination entries are created between two companies.
-
The first selected company determines the basis of the entry.
-
The elimination is typically processed at 100%.
The elimination is automatically applied to the consolidation and becomes visible in the reports.
Entering Elimination Entries
Follow these steps:
-
Select the first company.
-
Select the corresponding General Ledger Account.
-
Select the counterparty company.
-
Select the corresponding General Ledger Account for that company.
The amount is based on the selected General Ledger Account and the selected fiscal year.
* **Actuals** are used by default. * If no **Actuals** are available, another **Dataset** (for example, a **Forecast**) is used instead.

When creating elimination entries, you can choose from the following options:
-
All Amounts
-
Transactions Only
-
Opening Balances Only
Use:
-

-

Elimination Example
Scenario
-
The parent company has three subsidiaries.
-
Each investment has a value of 100.
-
The total value of the investments is 300.
Process
Create a separate elimination entry for each subsidiary:
-
Subsidiary A: Eliminate the equity (100%).
-
Offsetting Account: Investments held by the parent company.
This results in:
-
An elimination entry for the subsidiary.
-
An offsetting entry for the parent company.
Repeat these steps for each subsidiary.
If you reverse the order and select the parent company first, the total amount (300) will be processed for each elimination entry, resulting in incorrect consolidation figures.
Display in Reports
Elimination entries are included in the consolidated figures by default.
You can also display elimination entries as a separate column in reports.
Go to:
Main Menu → Data → Manage and Organize → Structure Mapping
Here you can configure:
-
Whether elimination entries are displayed as a separate column.
-
How the Report Structure is displayed.
Period 0 (Opening Balance)
-
Opening balance entries are recorded in Period 0.
-
These entries are not included in the Profit and Loss Statement.
-
In some reports, such as EBIT, Period 0 can be included.
